Gypsy 05 Roundie -
This roundie makes the perfect accessory to a beach day! The very beachy bohemian pattern is made from 100% cotton. It's not the softest texture, I don't believe it was designed to be though. I could see this layed out on the beach for a picnic in the summer months. Out of all 8 designs I would have preferred a blue one, the peach and mint scream summer colours which is why I'm okay with it. All categories on the website are neatly layed out making it easy to search. Gypsy 05 sells an assortment of dresses, active wear, swim to jewellery and shoes. The price range is medium to extremely high, the highest prices I saw were the jewellery price tags. Every piece sold on their website has a beautiful bohemian flare and very unique look to the items. They ship internationally from the U.S. great news for us Canadians we can place orders. Retails for $50.00 USD = $66.89 CAN
Briogeo Rosaroo Milk Reparative Leave in Conditioner Spray-
Right off the bat I can tell you this product smells amazing! Partly because it leaked all over my box, the cap unscrewed a bit during shipping. Once I cleaned it up it still works thankfully. Key ingredients are rosehip, argan and coconut oil. Other note worthy ingredients are shea butter, hibiscus flower extract, peel oil ( orange, grapefruit, lemon, tangerine) and fir oil. The use of this leave in conditioner is to repair dryness, strengthen, heat protect as well as adding additional shine to the hair. Targeting everything you need in your Spring hair routine. Formulated without sulfates, parabens, silicones, or artificial colours it's a great product to add to your vanity line up. I will advise this product is strongly scented, so if you have sensitives to fragrance I would not recommend this for you. If you are looking to purchase you can find this vegan friendly, cruelty free spray at Sephora. Retails for $20.00 USD $26.00 CAN at Sephora
Milly Zip Pouch -
Milly is a very fashion forward brand, I'm very excited that the vacation pouch was in my box. The water resistant wristlet reads " Haute Mess". In the collection other colours and sayings are available another favourite was the one that reads "Beach Please". The zip pouch is the most adorable accessory for a beach day to hold personal belongings or your bikini. In the winter seasons I will convert this to a makeup bag for travel. Retails for $45.00 USD = $60.20 CAN
Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator -
Weekly exfoliation is a must to get radiant skin, slothing away dead skin cells so new ones can regenerate. Also doing this step in skin care allows other products to penetrate the dermis to preform better. Suitable for all skin types this is an easy alternative to going for a microdermabrasion treatment at the spa. Containing pharmaceutical grade crystals to exfoliate, lactic acid to eat away at the dead skin cells and smoothing botanicals to reduce redness, this will also help get rid of acne scars and uneven skintone. Sephora does not carry this age defying one, they do sell the plain microdermabrasion one. With such a high price tag I'm intrigued to see the results of this product. Retails at Sephora for $98.00 CAN
Karuna Hydrating + Face Mask-
This mask is most suitable for dry, dull and dehydrated skin types, which is pretty much all of us Canadians after this winter! The cloth sheet helps improve elasticity, rebuild the skins moisture barrier and improve hydration by 40%. Sheet masks are on the trend right now because they are easy to use and are the best mess free way to great skin. Formulated without oils the hyaluronic acid and peptides replenish the new skin cells. At the same time Chinese licorice and vitamin B work together to detoxify. The perfect blend of aloe vera and chamomile hydrate for long lasting moisture on the skin. Length of time to wear is 10-20 mins, I wore mine during Netflix watching. The look of my skin was improved and the soft moisturized feel to my face felt like I had drank so much water, which I honestly don't drink enough of. Retails for $28.00 USD On Sephora they sell these online only for $34.00 CAN it's a box of 4 for a one month supply. $9.36 CAN per mask
Realher Lip Kit -
I received the shade deep red for this trio. I like the idea of all three to create the perfect lip, instead of trying to find all three different products similar in colour. Realher donates 20% of all proceeds to the charity The American Association of University Women. Threw education, advocacy and leadership programs they help women source empowerment and self fulfilment. The brand Realher really emphasizes on girls and women being 100% their best self not media's portrayal of what is the best. The designers even made the packaging super chic with adorable quotes on them. Retails for $48.00 USD = $64.21 CAN
Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish Set- Shades Blue Orchid/ Like a Virgin
I tried the shade blue orchid which is a pretty spring pastel blue. The staying power was about 4 days with a top and base coat from O.P.I. The application was a little streaky and needed two coats to get the true opaque colour. The shade "Like a Virgin" does not really interest me. With all the other shades that are on the market it was kinda blah. I truthfully still prefer the Zoya nail polish that came in the editors box over this duo. Retails for $19.00 USD = $25.42 CAN
Emerald + DUV "Joshua Tree" Cage Bracelet -
This brand was launched by Kristin Cavallari and I was excited to try a piece from her line out. I chose this bracelet thinking it had emerald colours in it... had not done my research before picking haha. No emerald to be found, but it is a really pretty gold cuff with an open concept. Their are many outfits that would be complemented with this timeless piece. Their website website has alot of really beautiful pieces with implicit design. Full Retail $80.00 USD= $107.02 CAN
This Spring Fab Fit Fun Box has the full retail value of $489.42 CAN for the entire box. There was some very unique items in this months box that really grabbed my attention. I'm loving Fab Fit Fun so far and I have only been subscribed for 2 boxes so far. The next box is Summer and I can hardly wait. To receive $10.00 off your first box use my link. Hope everyone who got their boxes loved what was in them.
This is my first ever FabFitFun box to receive and I could not be more impressed. The full retail of this editor's box is $336.82 CAN at the current exchange rate. The box cost in total $64.00 CAN with a $10.00 off coupon code that I used. Such an amazing deal for excellent quality products, I feel like I just upgraded from a 3 star hotel to a 5 star resort. Overall I'm happy I made the change in my subscriptions.Another bonus is this company partners with charity's to give back to community's. The ingredients and quality of each product is worth investing in. Excited to be part of this family, and beyond stoked to see what the Spring box has in store. Modcloth: Blanket Scarf- This scarf is beautifully woven with great material. The cross colours of red, green, navy, light blue, beige, and mustard yellow are colours I would normally not pick for myself. I actually really like this scarf with black and grey jackets as a pop of colour. The website I can sum up all in one word " adorable". They sell an assortment of dresses, tops, bottoms, shoes, accessories, swimwear and gift items. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but completely fair for the quality and uniqueness. When shopping you can adjust your selection from lowest to highest price. I really enjoy the unique vintage style of this company. They also photograph outfits to pull inspiration from. Sure to cover all sizes from XS - 4X. $34.99 USD = $45.89 CAN
The Created Co:Coffee Mug Tumbler - The lettering and black/gold colouring make this super chic. The tumbler is great for drinking at a desk, I would personally not recommend this for travel. Only reason is there is no stopper for the sipping hole on the lid, which can cause spills unless you produce your own. It's singled walled not intended as a thermal, though the website does sell thermals too. I remember seeing similar ones at Indigo now I'm happy I own one. The site also carries barware, coffee mugs, travel mugs, and water bottles all with chic sayings and patterns. Prices range from $12.50 - $30.00 USD and make perfect gifts. The gift sets range from $30.95- $60.95 USD. A huge bonus of shopping with Created Co is their partnership with the charity "Water". A non profit organization bringing clean& safe water to developing countries. They give 10% net profits to help build wells in these countries. Cheers to that! $19.00 USD = $24.92 CAN
Colouring Book & Pencils : My very first adult colouring book! With all the traveling coming up this year I'm going to need something to occupy me for the downtime in traveling hours. I'm such an art person that this is perfect for letting out the creative side. I also like that the theme of the pages are all over the place some pages are patterns, animals, and city chic. Fab Fit Fun partnered with Pencils of Promise a organization with the goal to increase the access of quality education for children in developing countries. I believe every child should have the right and availability to great education no matter what country they are from. I do respect this subscription box for helping make a difference. $14.00 USD= 18.36 CAN
Manna Kadar: Liplock priming gloss stain - Let me just say this is my new lip obsession! The shade "Lucky" is a nude petal pink, almost a your lip but better colour. This primer gloss stain is one of the most moisturizing things I have used. Best part it's non sticky and glides on super creamy. It lasted through a 5 hour shift at work, never drying out or caking on my lips. Vitamin A & E plus berry extracts are included to help nourish the lips. The formula is non feathering due to the built in primer, and you can also over draw the lips slightly as a lip liner. The flat rate for international shipping is $35.00, so I would recommend doing a haul over buying things individually to save on the shipping cost. $24.00 USD = $31.48 CAN
Marrakesh Argan & Hemp hair oil: My hair has never felt as soft and shiny as it did when I used this. Two small pumps was enough to cover all my medium length hair. It dried fairly quickly with a hair dryer and in a sleek manor. My normal fizz was eliminated and replaced with a glossy sheen. This oil did not make my hair look or feel greasy the next day either, it kept it's glossy bounce. The argan oil is from Morrocco and I'm completely obsessed with this product. The glass bottle packaging is fancy and has a pump mechanism. The oil also contains no animal ingredients, testing, dyes, parabens, alcohol to name a few. Marrakesh has started " The Get Together Foundation" which has already donated to over 10 causes. $22.99 USD= $29.95 CAN
O.R.G. Skincare: Mineral peel face- This peel works wonders on the skin for your complexion. I exfoliate and moisturize routinely and I still could not believe the amount of dead skin this pulled. I had to do it twice in some areas to grab it all. Within 3 seconds the enzymes went to work sloughing threw my dead skin, what was left was soft glowing skin. The peel also did not make me break out! The spray contains natural brightening ingredients milk thistle and licorice root. It really made my dull appearance wash away with the help of super moisturizing components aloe vera, jojoba oil, and mugwort. It's formulated free of parabens, sulfate, and petroleum. I just met my match with Korean skincare that uses science to deliver the best results. $44.00 USD= $57.33 CAN
Jook & Nona: Tag Necklace "LOVE" - Lately I have really been admiring delicate, dainty jewellery. It goes with every outfit because of it's simplicity, I also love the gold tones on my skin tone, it's plated with 18k gold. On the website they have a variety of necklaces, pendents, rings, bracelets as well as a mens collection. The other tag necklaces read happy, inspire and dream on the bar. $65.00 USD= $84.64 CAN
Andersonlilley: No 12 Coastal Collection Sicilian Tangerine - Made in Manhattan Beach California this body butter takes you right to the Sicilian coast. With note blends of tangerine, mandarin, peach, bergamont, lily, jasmine, mango, black current, musk and vanilla. Formulated with safflower seed oil, shea butter, aloe juice, sesame oil, Vitamin E and A, this works to achieve soft supple skin. Andersonlilley does not test on animals or use parabens, petroleum, mineral oil, or artificial colours in their creams. The brand also sells a wide range of candles on the website ranging from citrus all the way to wood and spice in scents. They donate a full 10% of net profit to five charities annually. It's nice to know you are contributing to a great cause, while receiving amazing products. If your looking to spruce up your vanity or bathroom shelfs their collection packaging is also very chic, and worth checking out for yourself and for gift ideas. $24.00 USD= $31.20 CAN
Zoya Nail Polish: The shade "Rue" is a beautiful, cool toned nude pink. It applies an opaque layer without streaking. This is my first time using a Zoya nail polish, in the past i have always used either O.P.I. or Essie. After applying this I can see why I have heard great things about Zoya polish. I'm a fan that Fabfitfun chose a shade from the natural collection to add to the box. $10.00 USD= $13.00 CAN
This now brings us to the end of this review of the editor's box. Thank you for reaching to the end, I hope this gave you some helpful insight on the products you received or if your thinking about starting Funfitfab to see what it all has to offer. I'm very glad I switched over to this, and thank you to all who stayed with me during the change of subscriptions. Next FFF review will be in the spring!
As we start a new year I feel it's time to start a new subscription. This will be the last Ipsy review I do, I'm switching over to the Seasonal Fab, Fit Fun box. That being said it's nothing bad to do with Ipsy, I feel like I need a change and after 2 and a half years all those monthly bags hoard up. I feel like the product selection and bag design has changed since Desi Perkins, Chrispy, Michelle Phan etc sorta moved on. It's still pretty good products, I'm just looking more for full size lifestyle, makeup and fitness items now. Once my seasonal boxes start to arrive I will be reviewing those instead. With out too much rambling let's see what I got in my finale bag. All products are broken down into Canadian prices as well based on current exchange rate.
-417 Hand Moisturizer - This cream is extremely strong in smell, it reminds me of a very sophisticated perfume. The formula absorbs fairly quickly and contains Sesame seed oil, beeswax, dead sea water, evening primrose oil, olive oil. At the very end of the ingredients list it shows shea butter, vitamin F,A,E,B, which we all know is not very much because it's listed last. Most company's list the ingredients in order of high to low usage. Top ingredients are water, glycerin and cetyl alcohol. Again I would not recommend this if you are sensitive to perfume and scents. This hand moisturizer is paraben free and mineral oil free. Made in Israel , it goes for $17.00 USD/ 100ml we received a 30ml = $5.10 USD $6.69 CAN.
PACIFICA Blushious Coconut and Rose Infused Cheek Colour - Shade WildRose is a universally flattering shade with pink undertones. This product is 100% vegan, cruelty free. Unicorn lovers will really adore this packaging, there is a gold unicorn right on the lid of the blush. WildRose is very light weight with a highlight sheen. Not a matte blush though I feel healthy glowing skin and cheeks are more on trend. Full Retail price is $12.00 USD/ .10oz That size is what we received in the bag $15.74 CAN
Trust Fund Beauty Lipgloss- The shade is a dusty rose called " Method to the Madness". The formula feels incredibly smooth and is not sticky or gunky feeling on the lips. This wears perfectly on its own with the subtle colour and hydrating effect. My ingredient favourites are sunflower seed oil, apricot kernal oil, shea butter, cocao seed butter, and vitamin E all to help condition the lips. A bonus is it's vegan and cruelty free. Trust Fund Beauty is a super fun with the names of the lip and nail products seriously check it out, a few of my favourites are called "waste his time 2017", " why you mad tho?", "elegantly wasted", "Boozy Brunch", and last but not least "Boy Tears" all these are nail polish colours. The back story of the Founder Samara Granofsky is truly beautiful and I will be looking into more products from her line.
The Balm - Bahama Mama Bronzer This is a versatile powder you can use as a contour, matte brown eyeshadow or eyebrow filler. I'm glad I get to try this out, it's a toss up between this and trying hula bronzer by benefit. I will hopefully have a decision by summer, it is 6 month's away so we gotta get on the ball. Full size is $20.00 USD, my guess is this is $5.00 worth I could not find the exact sizes to be sure.
Pretty Woman Nail Polish - This was the only let down in my bag this month, the shade "I Can't Deal" is a grey beige and I literally can not deal. Not in a good way, grey nails are not my cup of tea. If it had been another colour it wouldn't have been so bad. I will be giving this away, my collection will not sport a grey. This full size is $7.99 USD = $10.48 CAN
This months bag in total retail value was worth $66.76 CAN again Ipsy did not let us down on the value. I want to say thank you to everyone who monthly read my Ipsy reviews. Being an Ipster for 2 and a half years has been fun with all you fellow Ipsy lovers. Who knows i may subscribe back in the future see where the wind takes me. Stay tuned for future blog post on Fun Fit Fab FFF excited to see what they have to offer and even more excited to share with you all reviews and values of the products.
This month's hot pink furry clutch was packed with little early Christmas gifts for yourself. Below I will give a small review on each product and it's CAN dollar value, plus the grand value based on current exchange rate. Hope everyone has an amazing holiday this year with family and friends, lets jump into 2016's last Ipsy review.
Ciate London Liquid Velvet shade "Pin Up" - the hyaluronic acid has a very moisturizing effect on the lips, never creasing in my cracks. The berry pigment is suitable for day and night wear, flattering on many skintones. I have already recieved this shade in my Chloe Morello beauty haul, if you want some makeup inspiration with this shade check out her Youtube videos. Ciate London did a nice job on this lip formula, the only negative thing I have to say is it's not smudge proof. The dom applicator makes application precise and hasslefree. All 13 shades avaliable are formulated without gluten and it's vegan and cruelty free, you can purchase them on sephora.ca Full retail value $23.00 CAN/ 6ml Size in bag $7.50 CAN for 2ml.
Mint Pear Blending Sponge- this sponge is latex free and made with anti- microbial material. I can tell by the texture of this sponge it's not one of the cheap $5.00 ones you see around. The material and shape show this has had the influence of people in the industry behind it. I own a beauty blender like every other makeup user in the world. This sponge is just as good at blending and the pear shape makes it great for contour blending. The fine tip feature makes working around the eyes and nose stress free. The durablity claims to not dry up and crack ; it will take a few months of use to see if it's true to it's claim. Full retail value $20.00 USD= $26.69 CAN
The Balm Mad Lash Black Mascara- there is not much to say about mascara, it gets the job done. The curved wand does all the work for you lifting the lashes up. The formula is slightly better than the drugstore mascara's placing it in the middle brand market. Mascara is a hard cosmetic to review because it's a pretty basic makeup item. Full retail value $18.00 USD/ 8ml = $24.00 CAN Size in bag $7.50 CAN for 2.5ml
Barefoot Venus Gingersnap Instant Hand Repair - let me just start off by saying this holiday collection smells like freshly baked gingerbread. I'm in love with this creams festive smell. Made with shea butter, mango seed butter, olive oil and soybean oil, it's intensely hydrating. The cream is extremly thick at first, almost like when you get butter on your hands and try to wash them. I hate to say it but I felt like I wanted to wipe my hands on a cloth instantly. After about 6-7 minutes it worked it's self into the skin. All my dryness was rehydrated, which is perfect for Canadian winters. A portion of the proceeds are donated to grass- roots organization that helps individuals and families living with Autism. Barefoot Venus is made in Canada and has super chic packaging in an assortment of bath, hand, foot and body care. Full retail value $4.75 CAN/ 1oz that was the size in bag
Tarte Maracuja Oil - this oil is perfect for balancing a number of skin concerns. Full of fatty acids to reawaken the skins suppleness. The vitamin C will brighten the skin and even out coloured patches. The oil is a great product to add to the night skincare routine. The smell of the oil is kinda odd, but nothing to potenient you can't overlook. Maracuja oil is formulated without gluten, mineral oils, sodium lauryl sulfates, while having the bonus of being vegan and hypoallergenic. Whoever designed the packaging did a beautiful job with the purple glass jar and fake wood and gold top. Attached to the top is a dropper, to get the perfect amount of drops out for each use. I personally use about 3 drops in my palm and pat into my skin. Full retail value $19.00 CAN/ 15ml size in bag $8.82 CAN/ 7ml
This months full retail bag total with these products was $55.26 Canadian. Can not wait to see what the New Year has in store for Ipsy, until then sending you all the best wishes this holiday! See you in the New Year.
This month Ipsy has created a beauty bag with out of this world products. The stars of this month are Luxie 524T brush, Pur-lisse Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer, ADESSE New York Organic infused nail treatment, Elizabeth Mott Colour is BAE lip lacquer and Too Faced better than sex mascara. A beautiful galaxy themed bag was included to hold all the universe in. I usually wait till the end of the review to show how much this bag was worth in Canadian Dollars, this month I'm too excited so I'm dropping it now. Rockstarlet bag with these products is worth a whopping $107.00 CAN with the current exchange rate!! Let's get into the break down shall we?
Luxie 524T Brush | Rose Gold Duo Fibre Brush- This brush is made of synthetic hypoallergenic hairs that are super soft to the touch. The aesthetic design is very eye catching with the pale pink handle attached to the rose gold ferrule. Designed to work with cream, powder and liquids to obtain a desirable application. Luxie is vegan and cruelty free, while providing a wide variety of brushes and eye makeup to choose from. I personally will be using this brush with my highlighters. The size makes it convenient for traveling. They have coated the hairs with an anti bacterial solution to keep the build up at bay. I still recommend cleaning your brushes to keep them in good condition. Full retail value $24.13 CAN
Pur-lisse Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer- Suitable for all skin types with the recommendation for normal, dry and sensitive. Perfect for this mid November time of year, my skin tends to be a combination of all three coming into winter. Does anyone else have the same problem in November? This moisturizer's main function is fine line prevention. Key ingredients include blue lotus a antioxidant known for its anti inflammatory benefits. Vitamin E to improve skin texture and premature ageing. White tea to add anti bacterial properties keeping acne at bay and help smooth the skin thats raised. To retain moisture on dry skin it also contains french marine plants. Use this day and night after cleansing for best results. Full retail value- $55.00 USD/ 50 ml = $78.87 CAN size in bag was 15ml making it $16.50 USD/ $22.20 CAN
ADESSE New York Organic Infused Nail Treatment- This is a brightening base coat used to treat and prevent nail discolouration, from free radicals and environmental stress. Formulated with bamboo extract, keratin protein, white tea extract and vitamin E. The blend of these ingredients prime and protect the the nail and cuticle. You can apply this alone or under a nail polish. Due to the organic and natural ingredients keep in mind this does have an expiry date. My expiry is 06/19 it was formulated on 07/16. Key to keep documented that its made without toluene, DBP, formaldehyde, resin or camphor. The company does not test its products on animals. Full retail value $18.00 USD = $24.18 CAN
Elizabeth Mott Color is BAE lip lacquer- Shade moxie mauve. This full coverage lip lacquer dries down to a matte finish. The aroma of this product is fruity. The wand applicator makes the application very easy to guide the product along the lips. The initial formula is creamy and shiny, within minutes it dries down to a matte muted rose colour. I personally find the final stage to be a tad sticky. It's more of a dry stick than a hair stuck in it wet stickiness. The colour alone though does have full pigmented coverage that does not apply streaky. Full retail value $20.00 USD/ 5g 0.17 oz = $26.86 CAN The size we received in the bag was 4g 0.14oz making it $16.00USD / $21.49 CAN
Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara - Formulated with acacia senegal tree extract with the purpose to thicken the lashes while nourishing the hairs. I have bought this product in the past in full size, resulting in me being truly impressed with the way it makes my lashes appear. I will insert before and after pictures of the mascara at work below. Trust me it is worth the hype this product has been raved about city to city. My lashes appear fluffy and full, the dark black shade really makes them standout. The hourglass wand really distributes the product evenly pushing them up and winging the hairs out. The more applications you do the fuller they appear, that being said don't worry about transfer it's smudge proof. Sephora sells this travel size that was in this months bag for full retail $15.00 CAN
I'm giving Novembers bag a 9/10, I really loved the theme and the wide variety of different products to try. I'm only docking one mark due to my personal preference of non stick lip products. Overall I'm glad I did not miss out on this galaxy themed star bag. I will repeat again this bag was worth $107.00 CAN full retail and only cost $20.00 CAN per month. In the states it's only $10.00 USD, sadly us Canadians have to pay double that price due to shipping. Still worth it for an amazing deal!
October is my favourite month of the year. It's the month I celebrate my birthday and my favourite holiday all in one. This months bag was literally a little birthday gift to myself. Inside the bag was a Makeup Forever HD foundation, Model Co brow pencil, essence waterproof eyeliner, pur-lisse lip nourisher, and teeez cosmetics lipstick. Below is my review and breakdown of each product, plus the retail value in Canadian dollars based on the current exchange.
Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation - I will start with the most anticipated product in my bag. This foundation is very lightweight on the skin and does not leave a cake residue on the skin. Formulated with film and tv lighting in mind it looks great at any angle, and bright lights are not a reason to hide with this foundation. Try to take a photo with your HD camera, you will see what I mean. I applied this with a foundation brush, then used a beauty blender to further blend it into my skin. If you have any events to go to that will have lots of photography I recommend this foundation. Sephora carries this line in 40 shades, retailing at $52.00 CAN for 30 ml. $8.65 CAN for the 5 ml size in bag.
Essence Cosmetics Superfine Eyeliner Pen - Waterproof
This black felt tip pen does have amazing precision for creating a cat eye where you can customize the width of the line. The tip moves nicely to guide the line depositing even colour. The claim to be waterproof is about 30%. When I put it to the test it's waterproof when the water glides over it. I then rubbed it with my finger with the water and it started to break down, fading to nothing. As long as you don't rub your eyes, this will stay water proof. Full size $2.99 USD = $3.95 CAN We received the full size in the bag.
Teeez Cosmetics Eve's Ready to Wear Lipstick in Shade "Romantic Red"
This lipstick is formulated with mango to repair dry, chapped lips. The application is very smooth and even with the distribution. This buttery shade is beautiful for the fall season, even the winter months this would be acceptable for the holidays. I tested it for the ability to be smudge proof, it did not pass the test. My finger smudged it all over the place, would not recommend kisses with this one. This has a fruity flavour, not a bad bonus. Full Retail $22.00 USD = $29.05 CAN
Model Co' Instant Brows Dual Ended Brow Pencil - This product is very easy to control to create a natural filled in brow. I really like that it has a brow groomer on one side. How many times have I forgotten my spooly somewhere when I needed it for my brows. The design makes this product super easy to travel with. This Australian based company really came up with a natural looking shade as well. I'm pleased that I received this in the October bag.
PUR-LISSE Daily Lip Nourisher with Mango and Shea Butters- formulated without petrolium this instead uses mango seed butter that contains vitamins A,C, &E. Also contains sun protector Rice bran oil and Jojoba oil to help with chapped lips. It does not have much flavour to it, an feels hydrating on the lips. Full Retail Value $16.00 USD .38oz 11g = $21.13 CAN . I'm estimating the size in the bag to be around $6.00 CAN.
October's Black Magic Glam Bag is estimated to be around $58.45 CAN at full retail value. Not a bad deal considering it only cost us Canadians $20.00. This is such a fun way to treat the beauty lover in you each month. I will hopefully be uploading a instagram picture of my makeup using all these products at once. My instagram is Tyla_Carmela, to keep up to date on new looks and every month I review the IPSY bag received. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
This months bag I'm rating a 7 out of 10. There is one product I give a 10 out of 10, two that I'm just okay with and two that I could have done without. The bag is made of sturdy material, though the image reminds me of those old leg lamps for some reason. As funny and odd as it sounds that's what I see. Below is my first impressions and the value in Canadian dollars.
Eva NYC Forget me knot dry conditioner | All Hair Types -
First let me start with this hair treatment, the smell is fresh and fantastic deserving a thumbs up. The spray helps detangle and eliminate frizz. A added benefit is it provides static guard, which is perfect for fall and winter when your putting on chunky sweaters. Infused with vitamin B5 &C, and omegas 3,6,9,7. When I know I'm going to use this product I do not apply conditioner in the shower. This will help avoiding over product build up when it's not needed. Ipsy had sent out a dry shampoo from Eva NYC months earlier and I had used it all up. Over all this brand has delivered great products. Full size retail value is $14.00 USD for 5.1oz. equaling out to $18.45 CAN. The size in the Ipsy bag was 0.75oz $2.00USD/ $2.64 CAN.
Elf Clay Eyeshadow Palette - Shade "Smoked to Perfection"
These 5 shades look really pretty in the packaging, truthfully I'm disappointed by the swatches. The shadow has chalky fall out when applying. In the swatch picture, I applied two coats to get the colour shown. The colours are still not dark pigmented and they blend down to nothing. Perhaps it's due to me comparing it to my high end shadows that swatch high pigment in one swipe. I hate to say it, this palette will most likely be thrown to the back of my makeup collection and forgotten about. Sadly this product is nothing to rave about, the only thumbs up will be for the sleek packaging with the mirror. Retail Value $6.00 USD equal to $7.91 CAN

Best of both worlds, the appearance of a gloss with the benefits of a lip plumper. It feels super moisturizing on the lips and lasted threw one of my two hour work shifts before I ate. I did feel the normal burning/ stinging on the lips that comes along with lip plumper's once applied. The pearliscent look helps create the high shine look. IT Haircare 12 in one Leave in Treatment 100ml - infused with Abyssinian oil this product helps add shine, repairs damaged hair, while preventing future breakage. Calms fizz with silk amino acids. Protects hair colour and adds heat protection. I used this the other morning after the shower. My hair felt smooth and manageable like I had done a hair mask. You need very little to distribute evenly. Threw out the day my hair did not oil up or feel like it had product build up. This is a dupe for the miracle 10 hair treatment . This travel size is $5.99 USD = $ 7.75 CAN. It's a lot more affordable than its competition miracle 10.
Lord & Berry Maxi Matte Crayon Lipstick. Intimacy lip colour - This Italian fashion house is now producing stylish makeup. The pigment is matte dusted rose, with a buttery formula. The pencil design makes application precise and easy. I wore it for an afternoon and it did not dry out my lips. $17.50 USD = $22.65 CAN
IT Cosmetics No Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner.- Along with 9 other shades this liner applies a flawless application with maximum pigment. The liner is infused with hydrolyzed silk, collagen peptides and anti oxidants. It's always interesting to see what's new and advanced on the market. I love this concept of tug proof. For years I have applied eyeliner, always at the back of my mind I worried about the eye wrinkles that would forum from the drag pull of the liner. This liner was developed with leading plastic surgeons and infused with vitamins C and E. Out with the rough crayon type liner, in with the easy application gel liners. Full size 0.50g is $28.46 CAN. Size in bag was around $9.95 CAN
Winky Lux diamond powder in Light - I used this under my eyes and along my t zone as a setting powder. It did work as a mattifier and those areas did appear brighter. Apparently this powder has a blurring effect. I did notice it set my concealer and foundation without caking in my fine lines. The product itself is light and super blendable. The full size is $ 20.00 USD = $25.88 CAN. My estimate is the IPSY size was worth $6.50 CAN
Sallys Box Camellia Oil Ampoule & Olive Oil Mask- the masks ingredients listed are beneficial for the skin. My only concern is the two step process. . I feel this mask is a bit messier and more time consuming with the extra step of applying the serum first. They did not skimp when it came to product the sheet was soaked in it. Felt very moisturizing on the skin. The morning after use my skin feels soft and moisutrized I did not have any sign of a breakout or irritated skin. Each mask is $5.00
The Canadian full Retail Value of these products was $56.85. I'm lost on how these products matched the theme of Sugar and Candy. It was a cute photoshoot non the less for the stylist. Final thoughts it's not the best IPSY I have received but the products have preformed well. Until next month.... Keep sweet
